Electrical and electronic works can be cause of death or serious injury to you and/or any other persons (children!!!) and pets by electric shock or fire.
Do not leave your works powered whitout your supervision also after accomplishment of work.
Do not let play or stay children, pets and other persons too close to you during your electrical or electronic works. During electric shock your body is potential source of electric shock for others. Additionally during electric shock you may move very rapidly without your control in a larger area than you can expect also with source of electric shock to which you will not be able to free yourself.
If you are a beginner hobbyist, find a person who has more experience and gives you knowledge about the most important safety rules. If you do not know anyone in your family or among neighbors, anyway find such persons until you start practicing this hobby. In this situation, you can look for a local interest circle or at a local school.
In the use of a transformer or power supply that separates you from higher voltages, make sure it is correctly constructed and make sure everytime that it is well maintained and is not damaged in any way.
It is strongly suggested to have somobody near you who will know how to switch off correct fuse or power switch when you will be not able to release from your source of electric shock. This person should be adult, aware of threats, physically fit and constantly keeping an eye on you. This person has to know to absolutely not touch your skin and your conductive clothes in case of electric shock. In the last resort a rescuer can tray release you from source of electric shock grabbing you by non-conducting clothes but this way is very risky due to very high possibilty of diriect skin contact which will casue electric shock also for the rescuer. Simply much better is prepare easy way to the fuse or the power switch outside of the largest area that can be within your reach during electric shock what means the cirle where radius is the sum of all wires between fixed source of electricity (wall socket?) and you plus the longest dimension of your body (sum of hand, trunk and leg). It is not a joke! Depending on how high the fuse or power switch is mounted, you can consider to set small ladder or chair close to it before start of work.
Despite all of the above recommendations being met, in the case of higher voltages you can die or suffer before being released from the source of electric shock.
You have to be especially carefull in choice of elements with enough power for resistors, voltage for capacitors and current (wire diameter) for coils. More information on elements choice you find at this website.
You should use proper materials to build your crossovers and you also should to ensure safe enviroments of work of your crossovers, especially heat dissipation and non-flammability of adjacent materials.
